Recovering from knee surgery, impresario Kevin Finney is taking a break from this month’s Drunken Owl reading, Sunday 10/18 at 5:00 pm. Ooh, scary stuff. The kind and talented Sumant Gupta stepped up to direct, and Brandy Briones will emcee and read with Jerry Stein, Ken Kavin, and Nicole Lockett. We have spooky and scary plays by by Romney Humphrey, Anna Tatelman, Barbara Lindsay and Elena Naskova. Mary Ellen Talley and Mike Hickey will read poetry, and Leatherwood & Company return to rock the house.
As for my rehabilitation, Coach Macdonald got it right on “Hard Knocks,” to Nick Emmanwori: “Rehab is hard man!” The running back room is thin and I’m committed to making it back to help my teammates.
