Drunken Owl Theatre

We’re two weeks from opening night, and the production is moving forward on all fronts. This is by far our most ambitious production, with more actors of diverse backgrounds and plays that seek to give voice to those we should hear from more often.

Maikaru has joined the cast; he’ll play the Chief in “Death of Whitman,” by Aiden Mamnisha Wolf of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

Guest director Mimi Katano works on her play “Harmony” with Brandy Briones, Juli Brown and Misaki Teranishi.

This week we painted flats. First I laid out the flats with scenes from last production.

I painted over the flats; always bittersweet as we say goodbye to the previous work.

and Bron Edwards, whose skill as a visual artist rivals (surpasses?) her skill as a musician.
