Themes

As Drunken Owl grows, more playwrights ponder participating. It’s time to revisit the concept of themes for our monthly shows.

The list below is a starting point for the plays and poems that we read and the songs we sing. Depending on current events or current moods, we might veer completely off theme, but the list helps organize our choices:

October – spooky and scary

November – Family Dysfunction

December – Anti-Christmas/ Pro-Solstice

January – My birthday month. Might be our next full production in January 2025.

February – Love Stinks

March – St. Patty’s Day or March Madness

April – Death and Taxes and/or Sacrilegious Holy Days

May – Mommie Dearest

June – Daddy Dearest

July and August – Summer Fun

September – Smoke Season

The type of script we prefer tends to be short, about ten minutes, with a small cast. We love twisted humor.

  2. Kevin, l have a little tale for Oct., Gargoyles, about two Gargoyles on Notre Dame de Paris. They’ve been sitting there for 700 years. And they don’t like each other very much. Enjoy!
