Meet the Advisors

Drunken Owl Theatre puts its actors, poets, and musicians up front, but it is led by Impresario Kevin Finney, and supported by a distinguished group of advisors. Here’s a little bit about the advisors, who we hope you can meet soon at one of the events.

Pam Carter and Roy Hirshkowitz
Pam Carter and Roy Hirshkowitz became regulars at DOT early in its existence when its home was a short walk from theirs. Pam has enjoyed reading her poems on the DOT stage and hearing her plays read by DOT talent. She was especially pleased to have her play “Vagabond Lives of the Barnacle Poets” as part of DOT’s first fully-produced show in 2022. Roy could not be a more supportive spouse of the writer. Besides attending live events, Pam and Roy like to hike and ski; Roy codes visualization software, Pam sometimes teaches and sometimes paints.

Jim Burroughs
Jim Burroughs is a proud supporter of DOT and an original member of the Board dating back to the Board’s formation just before the theatre group took up residence at the Jules Maes Saloon. A retired attorney, Jim has been a fan and financial supporter of local theatre for many years, including the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., and the Berkeley Repertory Theatre. DOT also feeds Jim’s other passion, which is local live music. Supporting the arts has a long tradition in Jim’s family, and he is honored to be part of DOT’s trail-blazing undertaking.

Josephine Fogle
Josephine Fogle has been an enthusiastic live theatre goer from a very young age. Be it a play, symphony, the ballet, or opera, and even a grunge band extraordinaire, she’s down for it all. As a writer of plays and short fiction, it’s the surprise of an unusual twist of language that inspires her. She is doubly thrilled to be a part of the DOT.

Leonie Mikele Fogle
Leonie Mikele Fogle writes both poetry and plays. She’s been a supporter of the arts for several years—having been a board member of 911 Media Arts before it closed its doors—and is a theatre and concert enthusiast. She is happy to be a part of the DOT family; she is excited to contribute to the artistic life of the theatre and music community generally, and to support Drunken Owl Theatre in particular.

John C. Davenport
John C. Davenport is a career journalist and former stand-up comic who veered into playwriting, which he usually does while seated. He has had productions in 24 states, London, Australia, Canada and Panama. His full-length plays have been produced in Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and Bremerton, Wash. His work has been included in one-act festivals at (among other places) the Estrogenius Festival in New York; Acme Theatre in Maynard, Mass.; Santa Paula (Calif.) Theatre Center; the Snowdance Festival in Racine, Wis.; Changing Scene Theatre Northwest in Tacoma, Wash.; and Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, N.Y. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and Seattle Playwrights Circle and co-founder of Red Rover Theatre Company. Besides appreciating Drunken Owl Theatre as a creative outlet, he is also impressed by Kevin Finney’s commitment and by using “drunken” and “owl” in the same context.

Kevin Harrang
Like all Capricorns, Kevin is an astrology skeptic, but mostly a recovering attorney, musician, occasional playwright for Drunken Owl, and struggling webmaster. Kevin loves and supports Drunken Owl Theatre because he believes art is something you involve yourself with—whether as creator, participant, or audience member—rather than something one merely consumes on a screen. The more local the better, which is why Drunken Owl Theatre is the best.
